The Quiet Work No One Sees

I think one of the most holy parts of healing is how invisible it often is.

You’re not posting about it.
You’re not getting praise.
You’re not earning badges for it.

But you’re doing it:

  • Choosing not to react the way you used to
  • Pausing when you want to flee
  • Feeling the anger instead of burying it
  • Sitting with loneliness without abandoning yourself

These are sacred things. And they rarely get celebrated.

In somatic work, we learn that even the most minor shifts — such as noticing your feelings without fixing them — can change everything.

Healing doesn’t have to be loud to be real.
It just has to be lived.

This week’s Porch Prompt is:

What quiet healing have you done lately that deserves to be named?

Don’t wait for someone else to notice.
Be the one who says, “I’m proud of myself today.”

The porch will always hold space for your unseen courage.

With gentle awe,

Kristi
