The Art of Beginning Again

There’s a moment in every healing journey when you think, “I shouldn’t still be here.”
You thought you were past that pattern.
You thought you had already processed that grief.
You thought you’d never let them back in again.
And yet… here you are.
Holding the same wound.
Feeling the familiar ache.
Wondering if all your progress has been erased.
But here’s what I want you to know: You can begin again. Gently. Without shame. Without proof. Without permission.

In somatic work, we honor the rhythms of the body — not as failure, but as movement. Your nervous system is doing its best to protect you. Returning isn’t weakness. It’s wisdom inviting you to deepen the healing you already started.

This week’s Porch Prompt is: What are you ready to begin again, gently this time?

Maybe it’s trusting yourself.
Maybe it’s showing up for your body.
Maybe it’s hope.

You haven’t ruined anything. You’re still worthy of what you’re reaching for.
I’ll be here — same porch, open heart — whenever you’re ready to return.
With all the grace you need,
Kristi
